Couples throughout Minnesota can benefit from Mediation One’s services, without leaving their homes.
Most of the more experienced divorce mediators are available to couples living in or near the metro Twin Cities. That leaves couples living away from the metro area with few options; the risk of trying to negotiate the issues and filing the documents themselves, driving a long distance to an experienced mediator, or resorting to an expensive, time consuming and destructive litigated divorce with attorneys near home.
Mediation One solves this issue by holding remote mediation via Zoom. The couple does not need to have Zoom membership to schedule and join a remote mediation session. On their laptop, my clients can view the same reports and options they would on the big screen in the regular mediation office, and I have not seen that the effectiveness of mediation is affected by the technology. As usual, progress reports and homework are emailed to the couple after each session.
For couples who live in or near the metro Twin Cities and wish to, person-person mediation sessions are again available at the St. Louis Park or Minnetonka offices.
When mediation is completed and we have drafted the legal documents, both spouses will review the documents before they are signed, notarized and mailed to the court.
